Matt Hill is a lifelong Saint Paul resident, father, public servant, and small business owner with a proven record of leadership, community partnership, and results. With deep roots in District 64A and years of service across local and national public institutions, he brings the experience, temperament, and commitment needed to represent Saint Paul families at the Minnesota Capitol.
With senior-level experience working for multiple Ramsey County Commissioners, he has served on the front lines of some of the most defining moments in recent Minnesota history — from navigating the public health crisis of 2020–2022 to leading community response efforts during the social unrest of 2020. As a Senior Advisor and Principal Aide, he effectively managed constituent services for thousands of residents, worked across five cities, and supported commissioners in statewide and national leadership roles, including the Presidency of both the National Association of Counties and the Association of Minnesota Counties.
Before entering county service, he led significant public affairs, philanthropic, and technology-sector initiatives as Principal of D&H Consultants, including statewide and international campaigns for business associations and nonprofit organizations. His earlier work at the Minnesota Historical Society included leadership of the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, where he oversaw the allocation of $70 million in Legacy funds and coordinated major statewide initiatives involving hundreds of partners.
Grounded in strong academic and civic credentials, he holds a Master of Science in Public Administration from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, a Humphrey Public Policy Fellowship at the University of Minnesota, and dual bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science. He has served the community through leadership roles with the Regent Candidate Advisory Council and the ReConnect Rondo Board of Directors.
Recognized for his integrity, cross-sector experience, and steady leadership, Matt is running for the Minnesota House to strengthen public safety, expand affordability, and restore accountability in state government — ensuring Saint Paul remains a safe, vibrant, and thriving community for every family.
